Rental Terms

All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement issued at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This agreement outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Eligibility Criteria

Renting a vehicle requires:

• To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Penwortham, you must be at least 21 years old. Age restrictions may differ based on vehicle type, and extra fees may apply for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence suited for the vehicle category is required, along with valid identification and proof of your current address. You must also provide payment details and a security deposit, as well as fulfill any specific conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.

Booking and Payment Process

• Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Penwortham office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required upon vehicle pickup. All rates are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where relevant. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through established payment systems.

Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

• At the time of collection, you are required to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and must be signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, with allowances made for standard wear and tear. 5. Coverage and Responsibility

There may be additional insurance options to lower your financial liability, which we encourage you to examine closely. You are liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, except when additional insurance is in place. Responsibility for damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms rests with you, regardless of insurance.

6. Changes and Cancellations

Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise details, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.

7. Restricted Activities

Prohibited uses of rental vehicles

• Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any actions posing safety risks. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding weight or passenger limits, and operating outside designated geographical areas without prior consent are also against policy.

Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.

8. Liability Limitations

To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Penwortham will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount you paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury arising from negligence or fraud.

These Terms are subject to the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
